TRY walks with South African learners from Grade 8 to life after school: what to study, practice that shows exactly what went wrong, the courses your marks can reach, the universities and TVET colleges that offer them, and the NSFAS and bursary money to get there — free, on the phone you already have.
You try, you get it wrong, you find out why — and you try again. The same is true after school: you apply, you look for the money, and if it doesn’t work out the first time, you try again. TRY is built for every one of those tries.
TRY isn’t just practice. It walks with you all the way — whether you’re top of the class, struggling with a subject, or applying again next year.
Past papers with memos, guides, textbooks, formula sheets — offline.
Tests and whole exam papers that mark you and name your mistakes.
My marks per term, and your APS worked out for you.
Courses you already meet — and the mark you need for the rest.
All 26 public universities and 47 TVET colleges: courses, how to apply, closing dates.
NSFAS and bursaries that fit you — step by step, with closing dates.
We were the learners this app is for. We know the late nights with a past paper and no memo, the maths that clicks only when someone shows you where you went wrong, and the confusion of APS scores, applications and bursary forms with nobody to ask. TRY is everything we wish we had — built by two South African students, for every learner who is trying.

“I built TRY to empower young minds. Talent is everywhere in South Africa — in every village, township and town — but help isn’t. TRY puts it in every learner’s hand: whether you’re top of the class, struggling with maths, or applying to varsity next year.”

“Your marks are not the end of your story. Whether it’s university, a TVET college or a second try, TRY helps you find your way in — and the money to get there.”
Made in South Africa, for South African learners.
For the learner flying through maths, the one failing it, and the one applying again next year.
Everyday Android phones, expensive data and patchy signal are where we start, not an afterthought.
Real papers, real closing dates, official sources. When TRY isn’t sure, it says so — and it never sells a learner’s information.
The engine that writes and marks questions is ours, line by line. It’s what makes TRY different.
